User Testing

Our dedicated team of user testers follow the latest Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) to thoroughly test websites and applications, bringing their experience with assistive technologies into play. This enables them to give valuable insights into how people who are blind, visually impaired, mobility impaired, dyslexic, D/deaf, or with learning disabilities perceive the digital world and navigate through it on a daily basis.

User testing is essential for your media but particularly useful for:

  • Smaller sites
  • Applications
  • Mobile and tablet devices
  • Internet Protocol Television (IPTV)
  • Games consoles

Why user testing is important

While automated accessibility testing can be helpful, it is not always able to generate a comprehensive overview of how accessible your media really is. For this, we need real users who can test every aspect of your website or mobile application.

Our user testing team can help you to understand where things have gone wrong, how it affects them, and what could create a better experience.

Because our user testers have a variety of disabilities, and use a range of assistive technologies, this dual testing approach provides the most in-depth results and the best course of action for ensuring your media is accessible to all.

Arrange to visit us and experience your own testing session.

Participation in a testing session is a fantastic way to observe and understand the issues that may arise. These sessions also present a valuable opportunity to expand your knowledge of accessibility, and how best to incorporate that knowledge when designing and developing your media.

You will also gain some insight into spot-checking your live platforms for accessibility issues, and we can give you guidance about free tools that can help you.

Reporting and Resolution

When testing has been thoroughly completed, we will provide you with a clear and precise report detailing any accessibility issues that we may have found under the Web.

Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG), plus ‘usability’ issues that our testers have found that may not necessarily fail WCAG, but still create potential barriers to accessibility.

The report will include screenshots of each issue, a full explanation of the issue, and recommended actions for fixing the issue.
